BFI offers the following debris box services for both commercial and
residential customers. Debris boxes can be serviced on a temporary and
permanent basis. Please contact Customer Care at 831-775-3840 to place
your order or to receive more information.
Temporary Debris boxes - 5 Day Rentals
4-cubic yard containers = $111.76
(6 ft x 4 ½ ft x 5 ft high; 500 lb. weight limit)
3-cubic yard container = $83.81
(6ft x 3 1/2 ft x 3 1/2 ft high)

A deposit and signed service contract are required before delivery.
Please note that container cannot weigh more than 500 pounds at time
of collection.
20 and 30 cubic yard debris boxes= $168.68 for the haul charge and 3 tons prepaid at $58.00 per ton (3 x $58.00=174.00), plus the City of Salinas encroachment permit charge at $28.00 per container, valid for one week only. Total = $370.68
(168.68 + 174.00 + 28.00= $370.68)
Please note, any additional tonnage above the 3-ton prepaid will be billed accordingly ($58.00 per ton).
If disposing of concrete, dirt, or rocks do not fill over a quarter of the box.
20-cubic yard debris box: 18 ft. x 4 ft. round bottom/ 10 ton limit.

Long-Term Debris Boxes
Long term Debris Boxes
20 or 30 (22 ft. x 8 ft. square bottom) cubic yard trash containers available. Please contact Customer Care to order your box (831-775-3850). A haul and a return rate of $168.68 applies to each box, plus disposal fees of 58.00 per ton. Boxes must not weigh more than 10 tons.
- Please no hazardous materials (such as paint, fluorescent light tubes, car batteries), medical waste (lancets and syringes with needles) or electronic waste (televisions, computers or laptops).
- No tires, auto parts, appliances, couches, sofas, or over stuffed chairs.
- Dirt/Concrete allowed, however, fill limit is ¼ full. (Maximum bin size is 20 yd.)
- Debris may not be any higher than the shortest side of the bin.
- If any bin is overfilled or legally overweight (10 ton max.) the bin will not be hauled. Customer is responsible for off-loading or leveling the debris in the bin.
- Additional disposal/special handling charges for designated materials listed above.
- Additional service charge for load level waiting, turn-away of scheduled pick-up, bin relocation on same property and additional daily rental, not to exceed 7 days.
- No cash refunds.
Commercial Recycling
BFI offers co-mingled recycling containers that are very effective in
keeping your trash bill low. Instead of throwing all that office paper
in the trash, why not recycle it? Chances are, paper is the majority of
your waste and you are paying a lot more than you should be by not recycling.
Cardboard only recycling is also available in 2-cubic yard to 40-cubic
yard container sizes.

Industrial Recycling
Since trash compactors and debris boxes are required to be serviced once
a week, you may have noticed your waste collection bill is much more expensive.
The simple solution to reducing your bill is by recycling!
BFI offers 20, 30 and 40-cubic yard recycling boxes at a reduced rate
for the following SEPARATED commodities:
- Cardboard
- Mixed Paper
- Vegetable Waste*
- Green Waste*
- Dirt
- Concrete
- Wood*
- Scrap Metal
- Glass
The recycling boxes are serviced on an on-call basis and customers will
be charged a haul and return rate but no disposal fees!**
